Yaffa Wainer – Landscapes
Yaffa Wainer has made a choice to paint realistic sceneries. She starts her work by stepping out into nature and documenting the sights, either by sketch or photography. Later, back at her studio, she spends endless hours paying careful attention to every detail. Her diverse work includes panoramic views covering landscapes as far as the eye can see; paintings such as a house and garden; or even close-up details of field crops. In affinity with the works of the great artists of yore, Yaffa concentrates on the classic theme of landscapes. The same views that once entranced Monet, Renoir and their peers now appeal to her. Golden fields of wheat—the promise of wealth; harvested fields with piles of produce. As they did, she also pays special attention to the autumnal yield and the promise of continuity. The houses that draw the artist's attention are also found in serene environments, rich in flora. She concentrates on that which is good and full of promise to convey her viewpoint on the world. Her ability to define parts of reality and transfer them into her own world is complemented by her technique that is skillful and eloquent. It is these capabilities that enable the artist to have an original, meaningful dialogue with the masters. Her attention to each brush stroke, to each touch on the canvas, is what gives her work its artistic expression. Her perspective is outward, to natural beauty tilled by man.
